This month's star writer: Abdur-Rahman Year 5

This was won with his poem entry.

Ice-cream

I am the ice-cream, the one that you eat,

I am the ice-cream that melts on the street,

Delivered in boxes is where I sit and wait,

Only for you to taste and say "yumm".

The ice-cream truck is a disaster,

My ice cream friends keep telling me to remain calm.

Every bite of my cone, I shout for a plaster.

Inside the van is where I lurk,

The last thing I see is your frightening smirk.

As people come closer my heart pounds faster and faster,

Then you eat me with a disastrous laughter!
